welcome to android officer this video tutorial is for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus software update. Samsung recently released a new firmware build, based on android 7 nougat. Keep watching this video till the end, for a step by step guide to update latest android firmware on your galaxy s6 edge+ phone. There are two main ways to update android phone software. The first one is OTA update, can be done directly from phone settings. And the second way is, manually update through odin software, using computer. Before proceed to update your phone, here are some check list to follow. Check battery %, should have at least 50% battery power. Keep a copy of important data to SD card Turn on USB debugging on your phone. (check description below the video to activate USB debugging) Install USB driver for your android phone on computer. (check description for USB driver download link) Now, follow step by step guide to update latest firmware on your phone through OTA. turn on mobile data or connect to a wifi network. Wifi is recommended for better internet speed. go to your phone settings, tap on about device option. Now tap on download updates manually. If its show, the latest updates have already been installed, then your device have not receive OTA update yet. If the firmware is available, then tap on OK to start download and installation process. Your device will automatically restart during the update process. Now, how to download and install latest android firmware manually through Odin. First, download the firmware for your phone. download link available in the description below. after finishing download, extract the downloaded zip file. You should get .tar.md5 file along with few other files. second, download the latest Odin software and extract the zip file. You should get odin application file having .exe file extension along with few other files. third, now, run Odin application as an administrator. Right click on odin application and choose run as administrator. forth, Now switch off and boot your phone into download mode by pressing and holding the volume down, home, and power buttons together. (long press until the boot screen appears). A warning message will flash, then press volume up key to proceed to “download mode”. Fifth, now connect your phone to computer via phone USB cable. In Odin screen, you should see a COM Port number at ID COM section and “Added!” text at the message box. This means your device has been successfully detected by Odin. Make sure that, only the “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time”options are checked in Odin screen. Now, click on the AP button and select the .tar.md5 file that you get by extracting the firmware zip file in the step 1. Now, click on the Start button to begin the installation process, and wait few moments. Once completed, you would see “PASS!” message in ID COM port having green background. Your phone should automatically reboot after completion. You can now disconnect phone USB cable from computer.
