Week in the Life of a Software Engineer + YouTuber + Barista


good morning we are vlogging this week
uh it is Monday morning it is October 21st I think yes
October 21st and today I am working at the cafe from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. I work at the cafe one day a week now which is great, honestly it’s just
for fun because I love that interaction with new people but before I do that I
need to finish a little thing for migrations which is a machine learning
startup that I work for a couple days a week I’m doing web development for
them so I’m just going to get ready I’m gonna meditate really quick because if I
don’t meditate I don’t have as good of a day as when I do meditate then I want to
do that work at a coffee shop just because I feel like it right now here’s my outfit today I’m still holding
on to the skirt for as long as I can I’m wearing what are these called tights I
guess it’s supposed to be 16 degrees today so we should be okay but I’m also
inside so it’s not that big of a deal anyway I’m gonna head to the coffee shop
and hope I get this done before I have to leave for the other coffee shop Wow, I’ve never vlogged in a bathroom before! coming at you from the
actually pretty gross looking bathroom at the coffee shop Im still
scared to vlog in public I mean I just still need to work on that I don’t know
how to get over it though… anyway I got the thing that I wanted to get done done I’ve
committed the branch, pushed, Garett has it He can merge it that’s great I feel really
good that I got it done I’m gonna go to the coffee shop other coffee shop where
I work now bye hello I’m home now I’m not sure where I’m walking to. I’m gonna sit on the couch. bruh, that shift was so busy I literally didn’t have a chance to like I
was just running the entire time it’s probably just busier now than it
used to be because in the summer people don’t really get hot drinks as much and
iced drinks are quicker to make whereas like for each hot drink you have to
steam the milk every time no matter what and then I like left like 20
minutes after my shift was supposed to end because I just didn’t have time to
do my closing duties because people just kept coming in anyway i’m so out of breath! I
feel quite dizzy to be honest to just when I’m going hard like that
just like constantly doing something especially for the whole shift I
just start feeling super nauseous and dizzy so I’m just gonna take this time
to just relax and then get myself back together. I’m waiting for Garrett we’re
just gonna have like grilled cheese for dinner I haven’t gone to the
grocery store yeah doing that tomorrow and yeah that’s it I just want to pop in real quick just to
document that I’m crying probably cuz I’m tired I’m literally just watching
this show, it wasn’t that sad it literally wasn’t sad they were just… the
characters were just watching gorillas and I started crying so yep crying is
normal for me I guess I’m just expelling the craziness like jitteriness in my
brain right now through tears I made a video about this

something something girl cheese with tomato, that’s a ham and
Swiss sandwich that someone didn’t pick up from work so it was leftover that’s
arugula salad that Garett’s mom made yesterday thank you Judy Thank You Judy…
and then I have some stuff too this is also the grilled cheese that Garrett
made. I’m gonna open I don’t want to open it that gross thing
is ketchup and hot sauce. arugala salad… and this is a sweet potato lasagna that
Garett’s mom also made for us yesterday thanks Judy I did it! I’m running even though its
raining im so proud of myself it also feels really good not gonna lie
it’s just light rain, it feels really refreshing highly recommend this. good morning I mean good afternoon it’s like 12 something now my hair is kind of it’s
wet actually because I just went on a run and I’m really proud of myself for
going on the run because I didn’t anticipate the rain this morning when I
was planning to go running today and I was almost not gonna do it but then I
was like you know what let’s just do it and I did it and it was it was actually
fun but now I’m kind of cold anyway today I’m at home so far I went on the
run I’ve meditated and today is dedicated to making a video that I am
posting this week it is going to be about calendar blocking I’ll link it
here somewhere because it should be up by the time you’re seeing this I’m kind
of stressed because I had set myself like I’d planned today to wake up at
8:00am and get up like run, meditate, get ready, eat, plan the video and then film and everything like that but I think because
my shift yesterday was so exhausting and intense that I was really really tired
and I honestly could not get up on time so I got up at 10:00am setting me back two hours. trying not to be too annoyed at myself because I mean
it happens and there’s nothing I can do except just move forward. anyway I’m just going to eat something now and then get to the
get to finalizing all the little details of the video so that the filming goes
smoothly and yeah I am back to eating oatmeal because first of all it’s so
cheap it’s like a couple of cents per portion and then it tastes good it makes
my tummy feel good it’s quick to make I highly recommend you finding a recipe
for oatmeal that you enjoy so today I put some cocoa powder in there, almond
butter, honey and then bananas and frozen blueberries hello I got really hungry.
I’m in the middle of planning still actually I’m pretty much done planning
now but its taking longer than I expected you know but I guess this video is just
gonna be a bit more produced than my other ones I’m eating this is called rajma so
it’s rajma chaval it’s like a red kidney bean curry and white rice yeah okay first of all this makeup is on from yesterday I’m so bad I knew it was
gonna feel gross in the morning when I woke up with the mascara and eye shadow still on but that didn’t stop me from leaving it
on anyway… anyway, good morning! I just spent a freaking hour in bed on my phone
because I literally can’t help it. actually I think that’s the biggest
issue in my life that I’m dealing with right now on a daily basis is the
fact that I set these alarms for myself and a lot of times I do wake up but I
just end up wasting so much time on my phone like watching videos and reading
things and scrolling Instagram like it’s honestly not good considering I woke up
at 8:00 and now it’s 9:45 and I just spent the last hour and 45 minutes on my
phone not proud. I don’t know I need to figure out a system to make me not do
that I’m home again today because I didn’t finish my video yesterday so I’m
going to finish that today I need to get something done for Migrations.ml this
morning it was super quick I just have to like upload some screenshots they
just need that done quickly today because they’re kind of trying to deploy
the current version of their website today this morning. I’m going to do that
and then wash my face and everything and I do my
yoga and then continue working on my video hey guys hey guys hey guys so you just
spent the day working on my video feel like shite right now and its still not
done and now it’s 7:30pm anyway I need a much much need a much
needed break ah I need a break so we’re goingout for dinner with gare-bear let
